Job summary

Gray Media's WCTV in Tallahassee is seeking a passionate Anchor/MMJ who can also command the anchor desk. The successful candidate will anchor weekend newscasts and report three days midweek, delivering engaging stories for broadcast and digital platforms.

The role requires journalism training, two years in a commercial newsroom, and proficiency in streaming and non-linear editing. A driver’s license and clean record are required for field reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism or related field.
• Minimum two years' experience reporting in a commercial newsroom.
• Experience with streaming.
• Non-linear editing experience.
• Passion for journalism and connecting with a community.
• A valid driver's license, good driving record and proof of insurability.

Responsibilities

• Anchor weekend newscasts and other weekday newscasts as assigned, including streaming segments.
• Work closely with producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcast are clean, compelling, and consistent.
• Demonstrate ability to connect with viewers and community both on and off the desk.
• Shoot and edit content for newscasts and digital platforms as assigned.
• Generate story ideas and build local contacts.
• Operate portable live units and conduct live shots from the field.
