Job summary

Hood Lumber, a division of Hood Industries, Inc., seeks a Millwright Lead Person for our Bogalusa, LA facility. The role follows a Thursday–Sunday weekend shift and is responsible for leading the maintenance team while performing skilled mechanical maintenance on production equipment.

You will drive reliability, mentor staff, manage parts inventories, and implement efficiency projects in a hot, industrial setting. Strong leadership and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Must pass Maintenance Certification at Millwright AA level.
• Basic computer skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and team skills.
• Willing to work shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of maintenance team and perform mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
• Prioritize maintenance, mentor staff, and promote safety and productivity.
• Repair/maintain equipment, replace parts, and perform welding or fabrication as needed.
• Monitor spare parts and inventories; order when necessary.
• Communicate with management on maintenance issues and downtime reduction.
• Identify improvement opportunities and lead corrective actions.
