Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Gallatin, TN to join a team maintaining facilities, machines and equipment. The role covers electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, PLC controls, and safety compliance.

The position operates on a Thursday-Sunday 5:00 AM–5:30 PM schedule with overtime as needed. Must have 3 years in maintenance with an associate degree preferred and be able to work with contractors and maintenance software.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of experience in maintenance is required.
• Maintenance & repair: troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical power systems; PLC controls and automation knowledge.
• Reading comprehension: read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
• Analytical and reasoning skills to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Mathematical reasoning: basic arithmetic, measurements and conversions.
• Safety: prioritize safe work practices and maintain a safe environment.
• Quality: follow work instructions precisely and maintain ISO documentation.
• Work independently: follow written and oral instructions and company policies.
• Computer: use the internet to research parts, communicate by email, and use maintenance software to record/accept work requests.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown repair on critical machinery, auxiliary equipment, and facilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment including PLC controls.
• Install conduit and wire drops, choose correct components for electrical circuits.
• Machining, fabricating, welding parts for production equipment and process upgrades.
• Assist in obtaining parts and coordinating repairs with contractors.
