This entry-level role includes material handling and inventory tasks, with safety as a priority. You should read blueprints, measure parts with calipers and micrometers, and follow standard procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• 1 year of machine operating experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws for structural steel and a brake press for bending metal.
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials and parts.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders according to production specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, route sheets, and job orders to determine setups, tooling, and sequence of operations.
• Measure and verify parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Track inventory, label material, and handle receiving, routing, and storing of materials.
• Follow safety operating procedures throughout all projects.
• Other duties as assigned
