Job summary

LCB Senior Living's The Residence at Westport is seeking an experienced nurse (RN/LPN) to join the Resident Care Team. The role supports the Resident Care Director, supervises care associates, monitors health needs, covers staffing, and handles on-call duties.

You will follow state regulations, administer medications with physician orders, and collaborate with ED, family, and medical staff. Requires strong English communication, a nursing credential, and at least two years in geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma and graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current RN or LPN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum two years of geriatric healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.
• Actively grow community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
• Assist with the evaluation of resident needs and the development and revision of service plans per state regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate understanding of pathophysiological and psychosocial changes associated with the aging process and disabilities.
• Direct and supervise daily work assignments of resident care associates.
• Evaluate residents' issues and medical concerns and discuss with the ED, family and MD as appropriate.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments to eliminate/correct problem areas and improve services.
• Monitor resident care assistants' compliance with infection control/sharps disposal program.
• Participate in community marketing effort.
• Participate in direct care of residents as needed.
• Provide support to resident care associates regarding assignment questions or concerns as well as emergency situations.
• Ensure required staffing and schedules (including backup coverage) are met at all times.
• Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes through proper channels to minimize future issues; ensure proper communication with LCB Senior Living and state compliance reporting.
• Assist the Resident Care Director with all documentation required by LCB Senior Living or the State Requirements.
