Job summary

Bethany Center For Rehabilitation and Healing in Tennessee seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a geriatrics-focused care team in a skilled nursing facility. You will assess, treat, and document therapies, and participate in IDT meetings to support resident wellbeing.

Candidates must be licensed (RRT/CRT) in the state, have a COARC-accredited respiratory program, and hold BLS certification. Long-term care and tracheostomy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires COARC-accredited respiratory program completion and state licensure (RRT/CRT).
• BLS certification is required in the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and initiates respiratory therapies for geriatric residents.
• Documents patient records daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
• Operates, checks and maintains respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
• Provides in-services for nursing staff on a quarterly basis.
• Participates in IDT meetings and collaborates with care teams.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and long-term care settings preferred.
• Adheres to facility policies, procedures and pulmonary treatment protocols.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
