Job summary

RENAISSANCE CARE CENTER in Gainesville, TX is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to support our long-term care residents. The role involves washing, drying, folding, ironing, mending and distributing linen and patient clothing to ensure clean, sanitary, and well-presented items.

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Launder items by loading machines at proper weight and cycle; apply detergents and cleaners.
• Sort laundry by color, fabric, and type and pre-soak as needed.
• Transfer laundered items to dryers in sanitized containers.
• Fold and stack dried items in proper order.
• Iron and mend items as required.
• Distribute personal laundry to patients' closets; clean and disinfect laundry areas.
• Maintain sanitation and quality standards; store supplies properly.
• Identify and correct safety hazards; monitor equipment maintenance.
• Lead as a Team Leader/Role Model; adhere to abuse prevention policies.
• Attend weekly in-services and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensure patient/resident safety; perform other essential functions as assigned.

Job Summary

QualificationsQualifications:

Essential Functions:

• Assures effective laundering by loading machine to proper weight/level, setting proper cycle, and hooking-up or dispensing proper detergents, chemicals, etc.
• Sorts laundry by color, fabric, type, etc., and prepares for washing by pre-soaking as appropriate.
• Transfers laundered items, in sanitized container, to dryers.
• Folds and stacks dried items in proper order.
• Irons those items that require it.
• Mends items that require it.
• Uses proper equipment, distributes personal laundry to patients' closets.
• Cleans and disinfects floors, appliances, folding tables, delivery carts and other laundry areas.
• Ensures that sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Ensures proper storage of supplies.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards.
• Cleans vents inside dryer after each load and outside of building daily or as needed.
• Ensures that proper equipment is available and in good repair.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other essential functions as assigned.
