St. Elizabeth Physicians in Edgewood, KY, seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the Infected Disease inpatient team for weekend coverage.

This hospital-based role focuses on inpatient consults, complex infectious disease management, and antimicrobial stewardship, with close collaboration with ID physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and care teams. Qualifications

• Current Kentucky and/or Ohio licensure as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Board certification appropriate to specialty.
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic data.
• Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients requiring Infectious Disease consultation and follow-up.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, microbiology results, cultures, imaging, and other diagnostic testing.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including antimicrobial selection, monitoring, and modification.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and infection prevention strategies.
• Document patient encounters and clinical decision-making accurately within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and continuing education activities.
