University Health in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Expressive Therapist for weekend days in inpatient Behavioral Health. The role focuses on recreation, music, art, drama, and dance/movement therapies to support patients’ physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, leading group and individual sessions, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, with supervision of interns and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Accredited program in Recreation Therapy or related field
• Current certification or registry in expressivetherapy or obtain within 6 months
• For Inpatient Therapists, obtain RQI and CBMT within 60 days
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Written communication skills required

Responsabilités

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized expressive therapy plans
• Plan and facilitate individual and group sessions using expressive modalities
• Document patient progress and modify interventions as needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and team meetings
• Maintain a safe, clean therapy environment
• Assist with supervision of interns and volunteers
• Maintain certifications and stay current with developments in the field
• Promote quality improvement and patient experience
