Job summary

The University of New Hampshire is seeking a Weekend Lead Farm Worker to supervise student workers on weekends and breaks, and to support the Equine Manager. Primary duties include routine care of the horse herd, training new student employees, and maintaining facilities and grounds.

Responsibilities also cover general farm maintenance, event support, and assisting with shows, research, tours, and student practicums.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of farm work experience with animals and/or machinery.
• Knowledge of basic mechanics and ability to operate tractors, UTVs, and similar equipment.
• Ability to use computers for record keeping and information retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekend and holiday supervision of student workers (70%).
• Assist with daily care of the horse herd including feeding, stall cleaning, turnout, and basic wound care.
