Job summary

Concern Housing seeks a Weekend Counselor to support clients and assist in site operations. The role involves counseling, direct care, and helping clients build independent living skills on Saturdays and Sundays, 10am–6pm in Middle Island.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least two years of related experience. Part-time weekend coverage, competitive benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus at least two years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a residential or community-based setting is preferred.
• Ability to provide counseling and crisis intervention services.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and crisis intervention to clients as needed.
• Deliver direct care services and support clients in building daily living skills.
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform unit inspections and educate clients on maintaining clean, safe living environments.
• Monitor medications as needed and coordinate with Service Coordinators on client concerns.
• Attend weekly supervision and staff meetings and stay current with agency trainings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Description

Concern Housing is seeking a Weekend Counselor to be responsible for assisting the Supervisor and Service Coordinator in the delivery of direct services to the clients, as well assisting in the overall running of the site. The counselor provides a variety of services, ranging from the teaching of skills to delivery of concrete services to providing counseling to the clients.

Days/Hours

Saturday & Sunday; 10am - 6pm

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Provides counseling and crisis intervention services to clients as needed.
• Provides direct care services to clients, including activities related to building and reinforcing daily living skills.
• Completes necessary and required documentation in a timely manner.
• Performs unit inspections; provides support and education to clients regarding maintaining living environments in a clean, safe manner.
• Monitors medications as needed.
• Collaborates with Service Coordinators regarding client concerns, including issues related to apartment maintenance or ADL skills.
• Attends weekly supervision and staff meetings.
• Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
• Performs other assignments as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent along with at least two years of experience in a similar role.

Position Requirements

Requires a minimum of a high school diploma with two years of experience. Work experience in a similar setting is a plus. References should indicate a history of a responsible, consistent employee or student.
