Marvin is hiring a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production machines, including PLC controls. The role requires analyzing equipment, performing repairs, and implementing PLC programming changes to improve reliability, with a training period on day shift before moving to the Weekend shift.

The ideal candidate has 2 years in a related role, an associate degree in a technical field, and the ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field strongly preferred
• Forklift and aerial platform licenses required
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and MS Office

Responsabilidades

• Observe equipment to detect hazards, perform service, repair, or replacement of electrical and mechanical components
• Program ladder logic on Allen-Bradley PLCs (RS Logix 500/5000)
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance in the plant’s workorder system (EAM)
• Trace problems using electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements
• Set up servo controls and adjust VFD parameters
• Troubleshoot motors including servo, DC, and induction types
• Back up PLC programs and verify system performance

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

*This position will train on the day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning into the Weekend shift.

Work Schedule:

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Highlights of your role:

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.
