Job summary

Mid-Plains Industries in Columbus, NE is seeking a skilled CNC Laser / Press Brake Operator for a dedicated weekend shift. You will set up and operate CNC fiber laser and/or press brakes, read blueprints, select tooling, and inspect parts to meet quality standards.

The role requires reliable weekend attendance (Friday–Sunday) with no weekday schedule, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a clean, organized work area. Lifting and safety procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser and CNC press brakes.
• Machine setup experience.
• Ability to read fabrication blueprints.
• Strong inspection and measuring skills.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to the weekend schedule.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC fiber laser and/or CNC press brakes
• Read blueprints, fabrication drawings, bend charts, and work orders
• Select tooling and machine parameters for each job
• Inspect first-piece and in-process parts against quality standards
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and angle gauges
• Troubleshoot routine issues and adjust machines as needed
• Run support equipment, including cold saws
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Keep your work area clean and organized
