Advanced Health Care of Scottsdale seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care on weekends. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health status, and help residents maintain comfort and independence in a geriatric setting.

Responsibilities include mobility support, dining assistance, documentation, and collaboration with licensed staff. CPR and fingerprint clearance are required, with prior SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to residents: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding.
  • Assist residents with mobility and transfers using proper lifting and positioning techniques.
  • Monitor vital signs, intake/output; report changes to nursing staff.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges; orient new residents to surroundings.
  • Support social and recreational activities; provide companionship.
  • Maintain clean, organized living areas; ensure infection control standards.
  • Assist with dining services: meal setup, feeding, and tracking intake.
  • Document care and observations timely per facility policies.
  • Participate in training to maintain CNA verification and grow geriatric care skills.
  • Assist new CNAs with training and policies; guide orientation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning and goals.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, collaborative work environment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Description

As a CNA you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to our residents, assisting with activities of daily living, promoting their independence and ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Schedule: Part-Time, Weekends, Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00am - 7:30pm

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide direct care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Assist residents with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting and position techniques to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Monitor residents’ vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
  • Assist with resident admission, transfers, and discharges, including orienting new residents to their surroundings and helping them settle into their rooms.
  • Support residents' social and recreational activities by engaging them in meaningful interactions, escorting them to group activities and providing companionship.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents, including making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring cleanliness and infection control standards are met.
  • Assist with resident dining services, including meal set-up, feeding assistance, and recording food and fluid intake as directed.
  • Document care provided and resident observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in educational opportunities and training programs to maintain CNA verification and enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric care.
  • Assist new CNA team members with training and getting actuated with policies, procedures and the layout of the facility.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to resident care planning and goal setting.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
Requirements
Job Qualifications:
  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state you work.
  • CPR certification and Fingerprint clearance required.
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar medical setting preferred.
  • Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care with empathy and compassion.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning and intervention implementation.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to care for residents in person.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.
  • Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
  • Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
  • Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
  • The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
  • The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
