Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for weekend shifts in East Alton, IL. The role covers hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections and component work on civilian aircraft, with an emphasis on safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates hold an Airframe (and preferably Powerplant) license with 0–6+ years in aviation maintenance across AMT I–IV levels. This position includes comprehensive benefits starting on day one and opportunities for career advancement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Airframe license required; Powerplant license highly preferred.
• Range of experience from 0–6+ years depending on AMT level.
• Licenses dictate progression from AMT I to AMT IV Master.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Remove/install panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and solve aircraft system issues.
• De-fuel aircraft and perform engine removals/ installations.
• Operate ground support equipment and inspect aircraft.
• Maintain shop facilities and tooling; navigate maintenance data bases.
• Communicate effectively in English.
