Job summary

Hertford Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking a Weekend Activity Assistant to create and implement engaging programs for residents. This part-time role focuses on weekend coverage, emphasizing supportive activities tailored to individual and group needs.

You will collaborate with care teams, volunteers, and residents to enhance quality of life while ensuring safety and dignity in all activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certificate in a relevant field (Preferred: One year experience in an Activity Aide role)

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities that cater to resident needs, including large groups, small groups, and individual attention
• Observe and report resident attendance, participation, and behavior changes
• Provide support to care planning processes by providing supervisors with information and observations of resident needs, preferences, and report any behavioral changes
• Coordinate activity programs with volunteers from the surrounding community
• Meet and greet new residents, ensuring their comfort, privacy, and dignity
• Maintain established infection control and standard precaution practices
• Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
