Apricot is seeking a Website Designer (Shopify) to design and launch a brand-new eCommerce site for a Palestinian fashion brand rooted in tatreez. You will transform the logo, color kit, photography, and content into a polished online home ready for a new collection, with fewer than 10 products and digital patterns.
This fixed-term, remote project requires theme customization beyond stock templates, accessibility, and pages for shopping, learning, events, and a blog, with handoff-ready
Design and build a new eCommerce website for a Palestinian fashion brand rooted in tatreez, ready for a new collection launch.
Organization: Confidential client in the fashion/retail sector; the name will be shared with shortlisted candidates before the client interview
Location: Remote - open to candidates in Palestine, especially Gaza
Role Type: Project-based | Consultant-contractor | Fixed term (launch by end of year, no later than January)
Reports to: Brand Founder
Our client is a small, slowly growing Palestinian fashion brand built around tatreez. They are seeking a Website Designer (Shopify) to design and launch a brand-new website. In this role, you will take the brand's existing logo, color kit, photography, and content and turn them into a polished, accessible online home that immediately communicates who the brand is. This is a launch of something new rather than maintenance of existing pages: the current self-built site is not functional, no product pages exist yet, and everything needs to be ready before a new collection arrives at the end of the year.
Our client's longer-term vision is to grow the brand into a small fashion house: hiring Palestinian makers to create tatreez pieces, and offering workshops where people can learn tatreez beyond the basics and tell their own story through stitching. All current sales happen through Shopify, and the site needs to serve two audiences at once: people who want to purchase, and people who want to learn.
Contracting party: You will contract directly with Apricot, which will manage contracting, invoicing/payroll, payments, and administrative support. Day to day, you will work directly with the brand's founder.
For this project-based engagement, the timeline is fixed: launch before the end of the year, ideally no later than January, ahead of a new collection. Working hours are flexible with no fixed schedule required. The site must be delivered in a clean, maintainable state: the client will handle her own ongoing updates to products, blog posts, and the events page, so simple self-service upkeep is the goal. The client will provide her logo, color kit, all photography, and all content.
Planned check-ins are scheduled per each delivered milestone to see how the engagement is working and help address any issues.
