Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, invites you to join our 12-week Internship in Construction Services. You will support five service areas—Concrete Paving, Barrier Wall, Precast Concrete, Asset Management, and Geotechnical—with cost, scheduling, and tracking tasks.

You’ll work under the Construction Services Director and engineers, gaining practical field experience, project coordination, and professional growth in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
• Solid computer skills and basic construction math understanding.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, organize, review and distribute information to the construction services group about cost, schedules, projections, policies and new initiatives.
• Maintain communication with project teams regarding construction services activities.
• Assist with estimating pre-bid activities and pricing for construction services work.
• Support scheduling and quantity/cost tracking for projects.
• Help update and publish monthly reports for construction services groups.
• Prepare and maintain required logs and assist with takeoffs related to construction services activities.

Are you wanting to get your foot in the door at a fast-growing Company? Webber, an industry leader in construction and infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic Intern to join our team.

Your Role:

Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation The Intern will join our Construction Services Department for a 12-week internship providing on-hand support to our 5 different services. As an intern, you will have similar responsibilities to those of an entry‑level Construction Services Engineer providing support to the Construction Services Director as well as managers and engineers of Concrete Paving, Barrier Wall, Precast Concrete, Asset Management, and Geotechnical departments. The support goals include Goal Setting, Planning, Communicating, Organizing, Implementing, and Tracking to ensure highway and bridge construction projects are well planned and successfully executed. Additionally, as a Webber team member, you will have the opportunity to participate in various company events and community initiatives.

What You Will Do:

• Acquire, organize, review and distribute information to the construction services group in regards to cost, schedules, projections, policies and new initiatives
• Maintain communication with project teams in regards to all construction services activities
• Work with estimating pre‑bid in regards to construction services work activities production and pricing.
• Work with project teams in regards to construction services work activities such as scheduling, and quantity/cost tracking
• Assist construction services groups in updating, maintaining, publishing monthly reports
• Create and maintain all required logs as necessary
• Assist different groups with Takeoffs related to construction services activities
• Calculate pricing and issue contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist scheduling
• Material Deliveries such as Aggregates, Mesh, Shotcrete, etc. as required
• Assist Construction Services Groups with Quality Control compliance of the various operations
• Assist with Field Operations and coordination of crews
• Manage Compliance with standards and specifications
• Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Work with Ride Quality group to help collect pavement surface data and support grinding operation
• Write reports, business correspondence, and documents
• Present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group situations to the construction services group, project teams and employees of the organization
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and plans.
• Other unlisted duties will be assigned
• Occasional travel to all regions in TX

Who You Are:

A Profile of Success Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers Full understanding of Construction Math concepts Ability to perform moderate to high level of physical activity in field‑based construction environment
