Job Description:
Position Summary

Load equipment and tow to job site locations. Maintain contracted assets such as roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, and vegetation according to specified standards and conditions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair highway surfaces, signs, guardrails, fences, lighting, potholes, striping, reflectors, litter, and debris.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment for surface and right-of-way maintenance, including repair of slopes, berms, culverts, and drains. Assist in vegetation control.
  • Set up and remove traffic control measures.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites.
  • Be available for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective communication in English, both oral and written.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to understand instructions in written, oral, or diagram form, and interpret safety and operational manuals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools, traffic control devices, and mobile equipment such as tractors, graders, mowers, sweepers, and augers.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of related experience in construction, road maintenance, repair, or landscaping.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Completion of training in traffic control, first aid, WHMIS, and occupational health safety.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Strong safety awareness and hazard recognition skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and operate manual and powered tools and equipment.
  • Exposure to weather conditions, chemicals, insects, and occasional high or precarious places.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
