Job summary

Leadhub is a full-service marketing agency focused on growing home service and trades businesses. You'll build client sites on our in-house WordPress theme, turning designer files into live pages and tailoring them to HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and electrical trades.

You'll extend the theme, wire content with ACF, and decide when to use Elementor or Bricks, always aiming for fast pages, proper schema, and reliable forms and integrations.

Qualifications

• Three or more years building and delivering WordPress sites.
• Strong PHP skills and familiarity with the WordPress template hierarchy.
• Ability to pick up existing codebases without rewriting.
• Experience with Elementor or Bricks and content wiring via ACF.
• Solid SEO basics and structured data for better rankings.
• Commitment to testing, version control, and clean code.

Responsibilities

Leadhub is a full-service marketing agency focused on growing home service and trades businesses. We have our own custom WordPress theme, built in-house. You'll learn it inside out. Most of your work is standing up client sites on that foundation and shaping it to each trade's business, not starting from a blank file. Some of it is improving the theme itself, so the next build goes faster and cleaner.

Our clients are trade businesses: HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical. A slow page or a broken form costs them real jobs, so the details you get right make a major impact on our clients’ ability to grow their business. You'll also carry a working knowledge of technical SEO and how AI search reads a page, because at Leadhub we believe a site that ranks and a site that’s built well are the same.

The Work

• Build client sites on Leadhub's theme, from the designer's file to a live page
• Extend and improve the core theme so every site after it benefits
• Wire content with ACF so a non-developer can edit a page without breaking the layout
• Reach for Elementor when a page builder fits, hand-code when it doesn't
• Build pages that load fast. Compressed images sized to fit, a short plugin list, and no scripts the page never uses.
• Add schema and structured data so pages earn rich results and surface in AI Overviews
• Build technical SEO into every site. Semantic HTML, canonical tags, clean URLs, a crawlable structure with no orphan pages.
• Manage our automations and integrations for the Leadhub team and clients. Zapier workflows, scripts against client and vendor APIs, small internal tools when nothing off the shelf fits.
• Keep forms, tracking, and integrations firing correctly, then confirm they still do
• Fix and improve existing client sites without breaking what already works
• Own the path from staging to production so nothing ships untested, managing WP Engine environments, Cloudflare, DNS, and site migrations along the way

What Good Looks Like

• Pages pass Core Web Vitals. Actually green, not close enough.
• The next developer opens your code and knows what's happening in a minute
• The site launches on the date you committed to, tested, no scramble at go-live
• Structured data validates and the client shows up where they should
• A change to the shared theme doesn't break the sites already running on it
• Multiple client sites in flight, all moving forward on schedule
• Forms, tracking, and integrations fire correctly and stay that way

What You Bring

• Three or more years building and delivering WordPress sites, not just editing them
• PHP you can write and debug yourself, comfort in the template hierarchy, and ACF as second nature
• You can pick up a codebase someone else built and work within it instead of rewriting it
• Real work in Elementor or Bricks, and the judgment to know when to skip them
• A feel for technical SEO. Schema, site speed, semantic markup, crawlability.
• Enough grasp of AI search to build pages that structured data can feed
• Automation experience. Zapier or Make, plus scripting against an API in PHP, JavaScript, or Python.
• Git, a staging habit, and testing before you push
• Real care for the details, because on a trades site a broken form is a lost customer
• You finish what you start, and you'd rather do it once, right
• Comfortable using an LLM like Claude to write code faster when it earns its place, and sharp enough to catch what it gets wrong
• A portfolio or GitHub we can look at matters more than a degree

Bonus Points

• GA4 and Google Tag Manager setup
• Experience with accessibility and remain up to date with web standards
• You've handed sites to an SEO or content team and kept them happy
• Experience on a support team and communicating with clients on closed tasks or opportunities for improvement
• UI/UX experience with a strong focus on conversion rate optimization
