Qualifications

  • Requires four (4) years of college coursework in computer science or a related field.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional IT experience in application services or related IT field.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining dynamic, public-facing websites using AEM or comparable WCM; HTML/CSS/JS to support functions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Web Content Systems Specialist supporting IDOR and DoIT.
  • Maintain and support web applications and websites; assist with integration and configuration of web-based solutions.
  • Apply scripting and collaboration with technical teams to ensure reliable, standards-compliant applications.
  • Pursue ongoing education to stay current with new IT developments, tools and procedures.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role.

Essential Functions
  • Under general direction, serves as a Web Content Systems Specialist for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR), performing specialized professional work in Web Application Development Services, serving as a support resource for a system or subsystem(s) of average complexity and preparing general design, detail design, and program specifications task documentation.
  • Serves as support for scheduled and remedial maintenance to assigned websites and web applications.
  • Assists in the integration and configuration of web-based solutions by applying foundational scripting skills and collaborating with technical teams to ensure reliable, standards-compliant applications.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related field.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.
Specialized Skills
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience supporting, configuring and maintaining dynamic, public-facing websites using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or comparable web content management systems, utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support system functions and enhance digital solutions.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience supporting SharePoint Site Collections, including site configuration, List, document library management, permissions, and integration with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Dataverse) and the use of calculations and queries to support collaborative business solutions.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience implementing and maintaining form-based data collection solutions by creating web forms, dynamic PDF forms, and static PDF forms using tools including AEM Forms, AEM Forms Designer (LiveCycle) and Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of professional experience supporting, configuring, and maintaining dynamic, public-facing websites using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or comparable web content management systems, utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support system functions and enhance digital solutions.
  • One (1) year of professional experience administering SharePoint Site Collections, including site configuration, List, document library management, permissions, and integration with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Dataverse) and the use of calculations and queries to support collaborative business solutions.
  • One (1) year of professional experience implementing and maintaining form-based data collection solutions by creating web forms, dynamic PDF forms, and static PDF forms using tools including AEM Forms, AEM Forms Designer (LiveCycle) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • One (1) year of professional experience applying accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508) to web applications and digital content utilizing SiteImprove or comparable accessibility compliance platforms to audit, remediate, and maintain compliance for public-facing websites.
  • One (1) year of professional experience providing support for scheduled and remedial maintenance of websites or web applications, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution to ensure continuous system availability.
  • One (1) year of professional experience conducting comprehensive testing and quality assurance (QA) processes, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, followed by implementation of web solutions in alignment with detailed design specifications.
  • Ability to logically analyze complex data and workflows, identify root causes of operational or procedural issues, and assist in implementing effective, data-driven solutions that align with organizational requirements.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and initiative in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, with a strong aptitude for quickly learning new technologies, managing shifting priorities, and contributing to team objectives under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences, including documentation, training materials, and status reports.
