The Defense Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Web and Application Developer to work at Ft. Gordon, GA. In support of the Warfighter Readiness program.

Position Summary

The Web and Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web-based applications, mobile applications, and supporting software systems. This position works closely with project managers, designers, stakeholders, and end users to create secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that meet organizational objectives. The developer will support the full software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, debugging, deployment, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.

The ideal candidate possesses strong programming knowledge, experience with modern development frameworks, and the ability to work independently or within a collaborative development environment. This role requires analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain websites, web applications, and mobile applications.

Web Development

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive websites and web applications.
• Create front-end user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Develop server-side functionality and APIs to support web applications.
• Optimize websites and applications for performance, scalability, and usability.
• Ensure compatibility across browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices.
• Integrate databases, cloud services, and third-party APIs.

Application Development

• Develop and maintain desktop and mobile applications for iOS, Android, and cross-platform environments.
• Build secure and scalable application architectures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and technical issues.
• Participate in software testing, quality assurance, and deployment activities.
• Implement software updates, patches, and feature enhancements.

Database and Systems Integration

• Design, manage, and maintain relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle including SQL optimization and ORM technologies.
• Develop database queries, stored procedures, and data integration solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and backup procedures are followed.

Cybersecurity and Compliance

• Follow secure coding standards and cybersecurity best practices.
• Assist with vulnerability remediation and security testing.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
• Protect sensitive data and ensure secure authentication methods are implemented.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred. 4 additional years of experience can be applied in lieu of degree.
• Must have at least an active Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within 1 year.
• Minimum 4 or more years of experience in web and application development.
• Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
• Experience with mobile app development, cloud services, and enterprise applications preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure coding practices
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Active TS/SCI security clearance

Pay Range

Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
