The Planning Consultant is responsible for advancing the wealth planning experience across Private Wealth Management, Ascent, and Personal Trust by providing planning expertise, coaching, training, and consulting support to relationship managers and business partners.
This role serves as a trusted advisor and field-facing planning resource, helping teams deepen planning conversations, identify client opportunities, strengthen planning acumen, and improve adoption of planning best practices. The consultant partners directly with advisors, private wealth advisors, trust officers, and business leaders to deliver education, coaching, and strategic guidance that drives business growth and enhances the client experience.
The Planning Consultant develops and delivers training programs, coaching strategies, educational content, and field readiness initiatives that increase planning knowledge, confidence, and effectiveness. The role also collaborates with stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance planning capabilities, support new hire onboarding, and process improvement.
In addition, the consultant provides subject matter expertise on complex planning topics, conducts quality reviews and case consultation, and helps ensure planning practices remain aligned with business objectives and risk management expectations.
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. Position can be located in Minneapolis or Charlotte.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
