Job summary

  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing professional designations (e.g., CFP®, CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; enjoys collaborative teamwork.

The Wealth Planner plays a crucial role on our Wealth Planning Team, working closely with Advisors, the Sales Team, and integrated service partners (e.g., tax, estate, insurance, and investments) to produce essential financial planning deliverables. Responsibilities include organizing client data, performing data entry into financial planning software, analyzing information, and preparing initial proposals and comprehensive financial plans. This position is a behind-the-scenes contributor to the client experience, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all planning documents.

The ideal candidate has keen attention to detail, is confident in working with financial data, and is motivated to learn and grow within the financial planning field. While some direct client interaction may be required, the main focus is on supporting Advisors in delivering high-quality financial advice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Partner with Advisors and Sales Team (30%)
  2. Collaborate with Advisors and the Sales Team to understand client objectives and gather necessary financial information.
  3. Review initial planning needs, clarify data requirements, and help organize all relevant client documents.
  4. Maintain clear communication with the team regarding case progress and any outstanding data requirements.
  5. Collaboration with Integrated Services (20%)
  6. Coordinate with Tax, Estate Planning, Insurance, outside vendors, and Investment teams to collect specialized input for each client’s financial plan.
  7. Consolidate, summarize, and verify all information to ensure alignment with the client’s goals.
  8. Track case activities and maintain accurate records in Salesforce (or similar CRM).
  9. Create and Support Financial Planning Deliverables (40%)
  10. Enter and update client data in financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro), ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  11. Prepare initial proposals, plan summaries, and supporting documents based on the Advisor’s recommendations
  12. Develop comprehensive, personalized financial planning recommendations aligned with clients’ goals, financial circumstances, and risk tolerance.
  13. Collaborate with Advisors to refine and finalize comprehensive financial plans, incorporating any updates or new information.
  14. Adhere to best practices and established timelines to maintain a high standard of service quality.
  15. Client Presentation Support (10%)
  16. Organize and prepare meeting materials for Advisor-led client presentations.
  17. Participate in client meetings when necessary to provide detailed insights or gather additional data.
  18. Coordinate with the advisor for any updates to the plan, changes in strategy, and schedule further meetings with the client if necessary
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, economics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. 2–3 years of experience in financial services, with exposure to planning support, data entry, and documentation processes.
  3. Familiarity with financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) is highly preferred.

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce or similar CRM is advantageous.
  9. Must be in good compliance standing with all relevant regulations, rules, and internal policies.
  10. Ability to travel up to 5%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift at least 15 pounds, file documents in high or low cabinets, to use the telephone and to use the computer systems.
