Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering invites you to join the WDI Project Engineering team as an intern for Spring 2027 in Glendale, CA. You will assist with technical coordination across Design and Planning disciplines on themed entertainment projects, from concept through construction.

Responsibilities include supporting document integration, coordinating with Creative, Show and Ride Studios, and helping manage design reviews, QA/QC, and RFI responses.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing engineering or architecture.
  • Familiar with construction coordination and document management.
  • Interest in themed entertainment project delivery and ICE sessions.

  • Assist in architecture and facilities engineering coordination from concept to construction.
  • Support design document coordination among D&P disciplines and across divisions.
  • Help organize big room/Integrated Concurrent Engineering sessions and design reviews.
  • Support QA/QC of design docs and field construction; assist with RFIs.
  • Track punch lists and coordinate document release with document control.

The approximate date of this internship is January 2027 to June 2027 and will be located in Glendale, CA.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a Project Engineering intern who will be responsible for the technical coordination and integration of the Design and Planning (D&P) disciplines during the course of a specific project, land, or park including coordination of D&P efforts with Creative, Show and Ride Studios!

  • Assist Project Engineer or Design Manager in the architecture and facilities engineering project coordination and integration from conceptual design through construction of themed entertainment projects
  • Assist in facilitating technical coordination of A/E design documents, models, specs, basis of design among D&P disciplines and across WDI Divisions (Creative, Show and Ride) and in consideration of programmatic requirements (Operational Stakeholders)
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating big room/Integrated Concurrent Engineering (ICE) sessions and design reviews
  • Assist with quality assurance and control, both with design documentation as well as field construction
  • Assisting in the resolution of questions arising from construction documents, field conditions and contractor requests for information
  • Track of facility punch lists
  • Coordinate document release process between disciplines and document control specialist (plot coordination, repro and digital/physical distribution)
  • Provide technical input to other project team members as required to assist with project decision-making and settling of contractor change orders
  • Resolve questions arising from construction documents, field conditions and contractor requests for information
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Working knowledge of Building Information Management (BIM)
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computer technology in the CADD generation of drawings
  • Experience working with punch lists in a construction environment
Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in Engineering, Architecture, or similar.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Additional Information
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA

The pay rate for this role in Glendale, CA is $31 per hour for undergraduate students and $36 per hour for graduate level students.
