Job summary

SC Johnson in Racine, WI is seeking a full-time Warehouse Forklift Operator on 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will load and unload materials, move goods to production lines, and ensure accurate inventory movement using RF terminals and SAP.

Candidates should have forklift experience in a manufacturing setting, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to follow directions and stay safe in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load/unload materials to production lines, trailers and docks.

• Operate various material handling equipment (stretch wrap, banding, dock doors, etc.).
• Scan products into SAP loading bins and load with forklift.
• Comply with warehouse safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace per SCJ policies.
• Interact professionally and contribute to team and business environment.
• Develop and maintain compliance with standard work and SOPs.
• Show adaptability by performing different shift tasks.
• Work overtime as needed.

Performs a combination of manual and administrative shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, as well as computers to maintain data for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follows receiving practices and procedures, schedules and requirements. Reports goods shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes product to destinations. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a forklift to load and unload non-finished good materials to the production lines, trailers, docks, drop zone staging areas, and tow trains.
• Utilize RF terminal to ensure proper inventory movement in SAP
• Operate various types of material handling equipment, including stretch wrapping, banding, dock doors and levers, and battery changing equipment
• Scan product into an SAP loading bin and loading using a fork truck.
• Comply with all warehouse safety and quality standards
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with SCJ policies and procedures.
• Interact professionally and make positive contributions within the team and business environment using SCJ principles.
• Develop and maintain compliance to standard work and standard operating procedures.
• Show adaptability by performing various assignments during the shift.
• Must be available to work overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

• Experience with operating a fork truck in a manufacturing environment
• Basic Math Skills
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to follow written and verbal direction
• Background in a shipping, receiving, and material handling environment
• Exhibits awareness and compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines
• Manage time/responsibilities appropriately in a dynamic production environment
• Maintains high standards of quality and accuracy through effective material flow tracking and error identification
• Ability to multi-task and use sound judgement

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

• One year of fork truck experience at the Waxdale facility
• 2 years of warehouse experience
• Basic analytical skills
• Basic understanding of Lean principles
• Effectively communicate and work in a team environment
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Full-time
• These positions will be on 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift (8 hours)
• Ability to complete the essential functions of the job and tolerate the ergonomic stressors of the job. This includes lifting up to forty (40) pounds, standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling for up to eight (8) to twelve (12) hours daily
• All of ones’ time is spent in manufacturing working environment
• This role is not eligible for relocation
