Job summary

IDALS seeks an Environmental Specialist to coordinate watershed projects and support water quality conservation across Story County (Nevada). The role involves collaborating with SWCDs, farmers, and agencies to implement nutrient management goals and protect Iowa's natural resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural science; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
• Experience in environmental or water resources programs preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate water quality conservation projects with SWCDs.
• Work with farmers and landowners to implement best management practices.
• Assess and monitor project progress and effectiveness.
• Develop and deliver informational programs on conservation.
• Use GIS and other tools to identify needs and innovative solutions.
• Assist with financial reporting and budgeting for projects.
