Job summary

Murex Petroleum Corporation in Houston, TX seeks a Waterflood Reservoir Engineer to lead the design, implementation and surveillance of waterflood projects. Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of reservoir engineering experience with 3–5+ years in waterfloods.
  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering.
  • Experience with economic programs for waterflood projects.
  • Experience with Petra for mapping and cross sections.
  • Experience with waterflood recovery analytical prediction methods.
  • Proven track record of implementing and maintaining a successful economic waterflood.

Responsibilities

  • Create base maps, structure maps, net pay maps, HCPV maps, and cross sections.
  • Construct and update wellbore diagrams and histories.
  • Determine optimum injection well placement and pattern.
  • Predicted injection rates vs. time per well.
  • Calculate ultimate primary and projected secondary recovery and timing.
  • Testify at regulatory hearings as needed.
  • Monitor monthly production and injection well performance.
  • Handle unitization partner meetings.
