Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. seeks a Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Professional Engineer for our Bowling, KY Office.

This role covers municipal projects from concept through construction support, with opportunities to design pump stations, collection systems, and treatment facilities. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, design reports, contract documents, bidding assistance, and construction engineering support across municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or similar; advanced degrees a plus.
• P.E. license in IN or KY or reciprocity eligible.
• Experience with Visual Hydraulics and WaterGems preferred.
• Excellent communication; ability to work independently and in teams; mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of municipal water/wastewater/stormwater projects.
• Perform conceptual and feasibility studies; prepare design reports.
• Develop contract documents; assist bidding; support construction engineering.
• Design pump stations, sanitary/stormwater networks, water distribution systems, and treatment plants.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate across disciplines.

Job description

Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Professional Engineer in our Bowling, KY Office location.

Responsibilities

Work will encompass all phases of municipal water/wastewater/stormwater projects including conceptual and feasibility evaluations, preparation of design reports, development of contract documents, bidding assistance, and support of construction engineering services. Ideal candidates will have experience with the planning and design of pump stations, sanitary/stormwater collection systems, water distribution systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants. This is an excellent career opportunity for a multi-talented and creative Professional Engineer interested in solving complex water/wastewater engineering challenges.

Qualifications/Skills

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Similar Discipline (M.S. or Ph.D. is a plus)
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Indiana or Kentucky (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
• Experience with software such as Visual Hydraulics and WaterGems is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to serve as a mentor to junior team members
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills

Compensation

Example base salary ranges listed below (commensurate with expertise/ability/years with P.E. license), plus annual performance bonus and additional incentive pay for each hour worked excess of the 40-hour schedule.

• P.E. licensure < 5 years: $90,000 to $110,000
• P.E. licensure 5-10 years: $110,000 to $120,000
• P.E. licensure 10-15 years: $120,000 to $130,000
• P.E. licensure 15-20 years: $130,000 to $150,000
• P.E. licensure 20+ years: $150,000 to $180,000
