Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our North Carolina water practice. The role requires managing multi-disciplinary planning and design teams for multi-million dollar projects, engaging with clients and government officials, and helping shape budgets and scopes.

The candidate will oversee design teams, mentor staff, and collaborate with sales for business development, including responses to RFPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• 4 years of related experience.
• PMP, CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire or promotion.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead water/wastewater design, permitting, and construction services from concept through final execution.
• Supervise project teams and mentor junior staff; coordinate assignments.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, delivery managers, and sales staff.
• Assist in producing design drawings and specifications for large multi-discipline projects.
• Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules; assess project risk.
• Support business development through strategic planning, marketing, and client proposals.
