Job summary

RK&K is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to support and expand our municipal practice in Western Pennsylvania. The role emphasizes conveyance systems, pump stations, and building lasting client relationships while leading delivery of technically sound projects.

You will identify opportunities, lead planning and design efforts, and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets from planning through construction. PA PE licensure and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal water and/or wastewater engineering with focus on conveyance and pump stations.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and pursue new work.
• Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow relationships with municipal and utility clients in Western Pennsylvania.
• Identify, pursue, and win new projects focused on water and wastewater conveyance systems, including pump stations and related infrastructure.
• Lead and participate in planning, design, and delivery of conveyance and pumping projects.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality control from planning through construction.
• Coordinate with internal multidiscipline teams, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies during delivery.
• Provide construction phase engineering services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, field coordination, and troubleshooting.
• Support proposals, interviews, and marketing efforts for municipal conveyance projects.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and growth of the practice.

RK&K is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to support and expand our municipal practice in Western Pennsylvania, with a strong emphasis on water and wastewater conveyance systems and pump stations. This role is well suited for a motivated professional who excels at building client relationships, pursuing and winning work, and leading the delivery of technically sound infrastructure projects.

Essential Functions

• Build, maintain, and grow strong relationships with municipal and utility clients throughout Western Pennsylvania
• Identify, pursue, and win new projects focused on water and wastewater conveyance systems, including pump stations, force mains, gravity sewers, and related infrastructure
• Lead and actively participate in the planning, design, and delivery of conveyance and pumping projects
• Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality control from planning through construction
• Serve as a technical and project leader, coordinating with internal multidiscipline teams, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Provide construction phase engineering services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, field coordination, and troubleshooting
• Support proposals, interviews, and marketing efforts for municipal conveyance and infrastructure improvement projects
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and long‑term growth of the practice

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal water and/or wastewater engineering, with a strong focus on conveyance and pump station projects
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Demonstrated success delivering and managing conveyance infrastructure projects
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and pursue new work
• Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Established municipal client relationships in Western Pennsylvania
• Extensive experience with pump stations, force mains, gravity systems, and associated appurtenances
• Experience working directly with contractors and agencies during construction
