Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager in our Houston, TX office. You will manage and design water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure, while growing business with existing clients.

The role offers potential advancement to lead technical teams and departments. Responsibilities include developing scopes, budgets, and schedules; ensuring design quality and regulatory compliance; mentoring project staff; and representing the company in meetings

Qualifications

• 6+ years of water/wastewater design experience.
• Knowledge of local regulations (TCEQ, City of Houston, Harris County, Montgomery County).
• Strong writing and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor project scopes, budgets, and schedules for timely delivery.
• Ensure design, specs, and reports meet quality objectives and regulatory criteria.
• Make independent decisions and provide engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with peers and management to align efforts.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and mentor staff.
• Prepare and review water/wastewater treatment plant and collection designs.
• Represent the company in client and agency meetings to plan work.

About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager in our Houston, Texas office. This position will manage and design water and wastewater facility and infrastructure projects while developing business through management of existing clients. A successful candidate will benefit from a unique opportunity for advancement to potentially leading technical teams and managing departments.

What your day-to-day will look like

• Prepare and monitor project scopes, budgets, schedules to ensure an economical timely delivery of projects.
• Ensure all technical aspects of the project, including the design, specifications, and reports, follow Baxter & Woodman company quality objective as well as all local, state, and federal criteria.
• Make decisions independently and take responsibility for project engineering solutions.
• Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas with peers and management team.
• Lead single and multi-disciplined projects providing technical guidance and mentoring of project team members.
• Prepare and review water and wastewater treatment plant designs and water and wastewater collection infrastructure designs.
• Represent the company in client and agency meetings to resolve questions and to plan and coordinate work.

Education/Certification Requirements

• An ABET accredited B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or applicable alternate engineering degree.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or can acquire registration through reciprocity.

Must-haves, what you will bring

• 6+ years of experience related to water or wastewater plant and infrastructure design.
• Operational knowledge of TCEQ, City of Houston, Harris County, and Montgomery County regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to travel throughout assigned office service areas (own transportation).

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $110,000-$160,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
