Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager for our Houston or Katy, TX office. You will manage and design water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure while developing business with existing clients.

A successful candidate may advance to lead technical teams and departments, with strong risk management and client coordination skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Texas or eligible via reciprocity.
• 6+ years in water or wastewater plant and infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of TCEQ, City of Houston, Harris County, and Montgomery County regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Team-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to travel within assigned service areas with own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor project scopes, budgets, and schedules for timely delivery.
• Ensure all design work and reports meet quality standards and regulatory criteria.
• Make independent decisions on project engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with peers and management to align efforts.
• Lead single and multi-discipline projects with mentoring of team members.
• Design water and wastewater treatment plants and collection systems.
• Represent the company in client and agency meetings.

About The Role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager in our Houston, Texas office. This position will manage and design water and wastewater facility and infrastructure projects while developing business through management of existing clients. A successful candidate will benefit from a unique opportunity for advancement to potentially leading technical teams and managing departments.

What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like

• Prepare and monitor project scopes, budgets, schedules to ensure an economical timely delivery of projects.
• Ensure all technical aspects of the project, including the design, specifications, and reports, follow Baxter & Woodman company quality objective as well as all local, state, and federal criteria.
• Make decisions independently and take responsibility for project engineering solutions.
• Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas with peers and management team.
• Lead single and multi-disciplined projects providing technical guidance and mentoring of project team members.
• Prepare and review water and wastewater treatment plant designs and water and wastewater collection infrastructure designs.
• Represent the company in client and agency meetings to resolve questions and to plan and coordinate work.

Education/Certification Requirements

• An ABET accredited B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or applicable alternate engineering degree.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or can acquire registration through reciprocity.

Must-haves, What You Will Bring

• 6+ years of experience related to water or wastewater plant and infrastructure design.
• Operational knowledge of TCEQ, City of Houston, Harris County, and Montgomery County regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to travel throughout assigned office service areas (own transportation).

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $110,000-$160,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
