Job summary

Consor is seeking a Professional Engineer to design and analyze water and wastewater infrastructure. You’ll own design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with standards and client expectations while growing your technical leadership.

The role requires a PE license, a BS in a related engineering field, and 4+ years of experience. This hybrid position blends office work with field duties and may involve exposure to outdoor environments and regulatory activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline related to water or wastewater.
  • 4+ years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Hybrid office/field work with occasional exposure to challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and documentation for pipelines, pump stations, and treatment systems.
  • Apply design codes to ensure regulatory compliance and technical accuracy.
  • Perform hydraulic modeling, flow analysis, and system evaluations to support design decisions.
  • Coordinate design efforts with internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support project managers with technical input, cost estimating, and quality control throughout development.

Job description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Professional Engineer, you'll apply engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll take ownership of specific design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that all work meets technical standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations while continuing to develop your professional engineering judgment and leadership skills.

What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical documentation for pipelines, pump stations, and treatment systems.
  • Apply engineering standards and design codes to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling, flow analysis, and system evaluations to support design and planning decisions.
  • Coordinate design efforts across internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support project managers with technical input, cost estimating, and quality control reviews throughout project development.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil 3D software is a plus but not required.
  • This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
  • While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
