Job summary

The City of Manistique is accepting applications for a Water Treatment Plant Operator. You will work under the Water/Wastewater Superintendent and be responsible for operating the treatment plants, with duties including monitoring process controls and performing tests.

You will also assist in the water distribution and sewer collections systems. Starting rate is $24.86, with annual incentive pay and contracted increases per the collective bargaining agreement, and opportunities for yearly salary

Qualifications

• Experience operating water treatment plants and performing lab tests.
• Familiar with SCADA instrumentation and monitoring readings.
• Ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting in plant operations.
• Basic safety practices and willingness to work weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate the water treatment plant under supervision and manage process controls.
• Conduct chemical and bacteriological tests on samples.
• Maintain records of plant operations and MO R's.
• Assist in water distribution and sewer collection systems.
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety meetings.
