Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. (AE2S) seeks aspiring civil/environmental engineers for an hands-on internship in Sioux Falls. Gain real-world experience on water/wastewater projects and collaborate with seasoned professionals.

Students enrolled in related degree programs will work on design, construction, reports, and client interactions, with flexible hours and possible overtime, while building your skills for a rewarding engineering career.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related degree program.
• Academic focus on Water/Wastewater.
• Prev coursework or experience in water or rural water projects.
• Flexible schedule with overtime or weekend work if needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Pre-employment requirements may include background check, drug screen, and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and construction of water/wastewater projects such as tanks, pump stations, and treatment systems.
• Develop skills in report prep, design, construction, and client management.
• Perform construction observation and site reports on water/wastewater projects.

A Snapshot of the Experience You May Gain

• Assist in design and construction of water/wastewater related projects such as water storage tanks, pump stations, treatment systems, rural water infrastructure, and/or municipal facilities.
• Develop skills in report preparation, design, construction, and client management while supporting water/wastewater related projects.
• Perform construction observation and prepare site reports on water/wastewater related engineering projects.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Enrolled in a civil engineering, environmental engineering,or related degree program.
• An academic focus/emphasisin Water/Wastewater.
• Previous coursework or experience in water, wastewater, or rural water projects.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime and/or weekends if project requires it.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Physical Qualifications

• Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
• May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
