Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern for Summer 2027 in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will gain real-world experience on water and wastewater projects within HDR's WaterBusiness Group, shaping public health and sustainability.

You will assist in design calculations, drafting reports and drawings, site visits, and RFIs under supervision, with mentoring from senior engineers. Enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate engineering program; strong problem-solving and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• 3.0+ GPA preferred and 3+ years toward degree.
• Familiar with water/wastewater software tools (AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, ArcGIS).

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on water/wastewater projects by applying standard engineering techniques.
• Assist with design calculations, drafting reports, drawings, site visits, and RFIs under supervision.
• Connect with mentors and early-career professionals through HDR programs.
• Perform other duties as needed.
