Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to work on infrastructure projects across Indiana. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.

Job description

HNTB is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for an exciting range of infrastructure projects across Indiana. The successful candidate will work closely with the project manager to produce design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications, and to manage the delivery of high‑quality design solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications.
  • Develop discipline‑specific engineering project deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
  • Coordinate and support project team members for multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Perform quality control reviews of engineering deliverables.
  • Assist in coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within the discipline.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Optimizing work processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Independently progressing the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
  • Time‑management, forecasting and communication of project development needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
