Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer II to join our Naples, FL team. The role involves evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques on moderately complex projects to improve local water resources.

Responsibilities include planning phases, design work, reports, and cross-discipline collaboration. A 3+ year track record and EIT certification are required, with PE eligibility preferred. Bowman's comprehensive benefits support professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related field required at time of employment.
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or related projects.
  • EIT Certification required; PE eligibility preferred.
  • Experience with computer applications and design software.
  • Familiarity with reading construction plans.
  • Experience with water/wastewater systems, water treatment, water distribution, pump stations and operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, hydraulic modeling.

  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
  • Complete design work using computer aided software.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects.

  • Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Assist in training and assigning work to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with project team on water/wastewater projects to improve water resources for communities.

Purpose

Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
  • Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially complex assignments, modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. Work is completed using advanced engineering techniques and design principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.
At the Operational and Company Level
  • May assist senior level staff or management with clients and agencies; subcontractors, and design teams on moderately complex project issues
Do the Work
  • Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications.
  • Work with senior level engineers; clients and agencies; subcontractors; and design teams on moderately complex project issues

  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
  • Complete design work using computer aided software.

  • Work side by side with the project team on your specialty in water/wastewater projects to improve water resources of our communities.
