Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer - Design/Build Lead to join our Charlotte, NC team or any NC offices.

Lead multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and delivery of municipal water/wastewater projects across North Carolina and the mid-Atlantic. You will guide design execution, coordinate with construction teams, mentor staff, and manage client relationships to ensure high-quality, on-time outcomes aligned with project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• 6+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience including treatment design.
• Working knowledge of North Carolina DEQ regulations and permitting.
• Experience collaborating with contractors in a design-build environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Design-Build or progressive Design-Build delivery methods.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage client relationships.
• PMP Certification or training in project management methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full design lifecycle for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure within a Design-Build or progressive Design-Build framework.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC efforts, and risk assessments while maintaining strong relationships with contractors, subconsultants, and municipal partners.
• Provide advanced engineering analysis, modeling, design documentation, and technical decision-making for process, hydraulic, structural, and site components.
• Mentor junior engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, and ensure alignment between engineering and construction activities.
• Engage with municipal utilities, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders throughout planning, permitting, design, and delivery.
• Contribute to technical sections of proposals, assist in developing design concepts, participate in interviews, and help shape Design-Build strategies.

Primary Function:

This person will bring strong Design-Build leadership experience to guide multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and delivery of complex municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects across North Carolina and the mid-Atlantic. • Working knowledge of North Carolina DEQ regulations and permitting requirements
• Experience collaborating directly with contractors in a design-build environment
• Demonstrated experience with Design-Build or progressive Design-Build delivery methods.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage client relationships.
• PMP Certification or training in project management methodologies preferred
