Job summary

Carollo Engineers in Los Angeles seeks a Principal Engineer to lead design and project management for water and wastewater facilities, including design/build projects in the LA area. You will guide hydraulic analyses, process evaluations, and coordinating with multi-discipline teams.

The role requires PE licensure in CA, extensive project leadership experience, and a proven ability to mentor engineers while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
• 10+ years of wastewater and reuse design experience with hydraulics, treatment processes and plant design.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.
• Experience managing medium- to large-sized projects with budget, schedule and quality responsibility.
• Strong communication with clients and project teams; public speaking capability.
• Familiar with a broad range of wastewater and reuse system issues and design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide design management and project management for LA-area projects focused on water and reuse.
• Lead design/build efforts for municipal water and wastewater facilities and expansions.
• Develop hydraulic calculations, evaluate treatment processes, and prepare technical memoranda.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers; QA/QC reviews.
• Mentor engineers and supervise staff on project assignments; contribute to proposals.
• Travel as requested and maintain client relationships; lead negotiations with stakeholders.
