Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Conveyance Project Manager to lead design, planning and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects primarily in the Salt Lake City area. You will oversee design staff, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate with clients on large-scale municipal pipelines and treatment facilities.

The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree with eight years of related experience and a Utah PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline with eight (8) years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Utah, or the ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment.
  • Experience with municipal projects (preferred).
  • Experience with large diameter pipeline projects (preferred).
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight of design staff and teams on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Identify new business opportunities for AECOM and support client presentations.
  • Participate in project opportunity evaluation and preparation of qualifications/experiences statements.
  • Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Direct project teams and ensure compliance with contract terms by all parties.
  • Develop project work plans, scopes, schedules, budgets, and monitor progress.
  • Supervise technical professionals and manage staffing workloads.
  • Monitor and report project financial status to technical managers.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervision.

AECOMis seeking a Water/Wastewater Conveyance Project Managerto be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Water/Wastewater Conveyance Project Manager will support and lead projects for water and wastewater clients primarily in the Salt Lake City area but also including national projects. Tasks include planning, designing, and preparing plans related to water and wastewater infrastructure which may be comprised of water distribution and sewage collection systems (gravity and pressurized) of various pipeline materials, pump/lift stations, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight of design staff and team members for water and wastewater infrastructure projects including water pipelines, sewage collection systems, pump stations, storage tanks, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, etc.
  • Identifies new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes AECOM’s capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.
  • Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of AECOM's qualification/experience statements.
  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
  • Directs project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitors subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • May supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff including workload and staffing management.
  • Monitors and reports financial status of projects to technical managers.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related disciplinepluseight (8) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Utah, or the ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on municipal projects.
  • Experience working on large diameter pipeline projects.
  • Experience and familiarity with the following programs: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT.
  • Experience working with local clients in Utah.
  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
