GFT seeks a Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer to join our Water Team in the United States with a hybrid work model, attending NJ offices as needed. You will lead design and construction of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems, including pump/lift stations, and prepare complete construction packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
• P.E. license in New Jersey.
• 4-10 years of related experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater, pipelines, and pump/lift stations.
• Proficiency with CAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support to a team of engineers on multiple projects.

What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer to join our Water Team in New Jersey! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our NJ Offices.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

As a Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and support to a team of skilled engineers, leveraging your expertise to enhance the team’s capabilities while managing multiple projects. In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems, as well as pump/lift stations. You will also prepare construction documents and specifications, and manage construction oversight and administration for both new construction and rehabilitation projects.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Managing and leading condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets, including large diameter pipelines and pump/lift stations, using various approaches and technologies.
• Meeting established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, including project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
• Working directly with clients to identify needs and provide solutions, while leading teams in preparing winning proposals and successful presentations.
• Coordinating the execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager.
• Developing small to large design projects from inception to completion.
• Preparing complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems for clients.
• Managing and leading the growth of client relationships.
• Creating and managing cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring design tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Leading the preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analyses, and utilizing design software to solve complex issues.

Education | Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
• P.E license in New Jersey.
• 4 - 10 years of related experience, including:
• Design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm water systems, pipelines, and pump/lift stations.
• Proficiency with CAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley
• Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Functional experience with MS Office applications.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
