Job summary

Arapahoe County Water and Wastewater Authority (ACWWA) seeks a Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead capital improvement projects within the Water Department. You will manage planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout under the Engineering Manager, ensuring on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 5+ years of water/wastewater experience, and Colorado PE registration or eligibility within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; ABET accredited preferred.
• 5 years of water/wastewater/civil engineering experience.
• Colorado PE registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager for capital improvement projects from planning through construction and closeout.
• Lead design, bidding, and construction phases for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget, including cost tracking, forecasting, and change management.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee construction administration and field coordination.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies during design and construction.
• Perform engineering analysis and review plans, specs, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance staff for constructability and continuity.
• Support CIP development, prioritization, and budgeting.
• Prepare and present project updates to management, committees, and the Board.
• Ensure compliance with CDPHE and other regulations.
