Job summary

The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners seeks a semiskilled worker to maintain and repair water mains and facilities. A High School Diploma or GED is required; on-the-job training will be provided to obtain required licenses.

Must obtain Florida Class A CDL and CLP within specified timelines; valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required. The role includes operating trucks/equipment, reading blueprints, and on-call after-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of hire, a Florida Class "A" Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP).
• Must possess, or obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire, a Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Must possess, or obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire, a Florida Level 3 Water Distribution System Operator License.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs to water distribution systems
• Installs and maintains service lines
• Operates a variety of trucks and equipment
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools
• Responds to after-hours calls when serving on-call.
