Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Water Treatment Specialist to protect Soldiers by ensuring sanitary water and waste systems. You will conduct site reconnaissance, set up and operate treatment equipment, manage portable water supplies, and inspect facilities and food for hazards.

Through training you will earn while you learn: 10 weeks of Basic Training, 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with potential apprenticeship certification.

Qualifications

• Interest in algebra, biology, chemistry, and general science.
• High attention to detail.
• Interest in protecting the environment.

Responsibilities

• Site reconnaissance and preparation for water treatment activity.
• Set up equipment and facilities for water treatment.
• Operation and maintenance of water treatment equipment.
• Management of portable water supplies.
• Monitoring the storage, transport, and disposal of waste.
• Water quality analysis and testing.
• Inspection of facilities and food supplies for the presence of disease, germs, and other environmentally hazardous conditions.
