Zusammenfassung

The City of Wilson, located in eastern North Carolina, seeks a skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to perform mechanical and maintenance duties across two water treatment plants and related facilities. You will help ensure safe drinking water for residents and visitors, troubleshoot equipment, and support routine plant operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with apprenticeship/internship or equivalent experience, plus a valid NC driver’s license and a Class B CDL

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in the field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical and maintenance work.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license and a Class B CDL with tanker endorsement within six months of hire.
• Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate state water/wastewater license.

Aufgaben

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems; performs corrective maintenance on electrical or mechanical equipment.
• Performs regular preventative maintenance at water plants and sites.
• Unloads bulk chemicals used in water treatment.
• Performs the work of Water Treatment Plant Operator when necessary.
• Installs and demonstrates equipment to upgrade the facility.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
