Job summary

Water Treatment Division

Starting Salary (DOQ)

• $39,338.29 - Grade B Certification
• $40,271.76 - Grade A Certification

General Duties and Responsibilities:Operate and perform maintenance on a variety of machines, equipment and control mechanisms in water treatment facilities; conduct routine laboratory tests of water samples; and maintain records.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must have working knowledge of the standard practices, tests, and equipment used in the treatment of water. Must have a working knowledge of the operation and maintenance requirements of machines and equipment used in water treatment. Must have ability to conduct a variety of standard tests and prepare reports and records. This position requires the physical ability to lift approximately 55 lbs., reach overhead, twist, climb, kneel and squat. This is a night shift position, working three nights per week and will include weekend and holiday work as necessary.

Requirements:Completion of high school. Prefer applicants with some experience in water treatment work. Must possess at least a Grade C Certificate in Surface Water Treatment or be willing to obtain within one year of employment. Trainees (uncertified employees) will receive a temporary reduction in pay of 5% off the pay plan until certification is obtained. *Employees certified at a level higher than a Grade C Certificate in Water Treatment will receive pay at a higher level according to the Pay Plan.
