Water Treatment Engineer

Job summary

Provost & Pritchard seeks a senior engineer to join a dedicated team serving water treatment projects across California. You will lead evaluations, studies and designs of treatment facilities with emphasis on groundwater and surface water processes, water quality analysis, and existing plant optimization.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary design teams, mentor staff, and liaison with agencies to secure permits. Occasional site visits and client meetings may be required as projects advance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Chemical/Environmental Engineering (or related field).
• California Professional Engineer license.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in consulting engineering.
• Experience coordinating with the State Water Resources Control Board and preparation of Reports of Waste Discharge and Recycled Water Engineering Reports.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, consult with manufacturers, and select process equipment.
• Consult with local, state and federal agencies on permitting and regulatory approvals.
• Coordinate design with other technical leads on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications and cost opinions.
• Serve as a technical resource to other disciplines within the company.
• Teach and mentor assistant and associate level engineering staff.
• Visit project sites and attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies (occasional travel may be required).
• Prepare engineering services proposal and serve as project manager on treatment discipline projects.

We are looking for a senior level engineer who is excited to join a dedicated team of engineering professionals who serve communities with water treatment projects throughout California. This position will actively pursue and lead projects for the evaluation, study and design of water treatment facilities. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of groundwater and surface water treatment process; analysis of water quality characteristics; and analysis of existing treatment plant processes.
