Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer for its Water Technology division to manage commissioning, installation, and optimization of water treatment plants. You’ll collaborate with design engineering, construction teams, control systems, and customers to deliver reliable, high-quality process solutions.

The role requires a strong problem-solving mindset, customer communication skills, and the ability to work remotely and independently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED / equivalent + 5+ years in service/maintenance in industrial environment (Required)
• Engineering knowledge across mechanical, electrical, piping, welding, civil notations
• Water treatment tech knowledge incl. RO, Ion Exchange, Thermal systems; startup/commissioning experience
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and problem resolution skills
• Ability to travel 70–80% annually across North America and internationally (Valid passport)
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; commissioning/construction/services experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in Model Reviews, Engineering Design Meetings and Safety in Design to ensure accessibility and operability of process equipment
• Perform control system factory acceptance tests with clients and representatives
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to improve operations
• Apply chemistry calculations, geometry, and budget analysis for T&M contract cost monitoring
• Serve as construction liaison during erection of Water Treatment Plants
• Identify and correct equipment alignment issues and manage external vendors
• Develop and execute Commissioning Schedules and Performance Plans for Water Treatment Plants
• Commission Water Treatment Plants per specifications and perform PLC/HMI IO checkout
• Develop SOPs and log sheets to monitor equipment operation
• Provide on-site training and post-market service including inspections and reports
